Paralegal

You get the benefit of working in a law firm with the potential to make a great living, but don’t have to go through years of expensive schooling to get there. Of course, your salary won’t match a lawyer’s, but in terms of return on investment, it’s a smart choice.

Registered Nurse

You’re on the front line of patient care, the first face people see when they need medical help. As much as people like to praise doctors, it’s nurses who do the nitty gritty and form the backbone of healthcare. There’s a lot of responsibility in this position, but you also get the reward of seeing tangible results thanks to your work.

Police Officer

Just like how nurses are the front line of defense in medicine, police officers are the front line on the streets. You’ll be playing an active role in helping make your city safer, cutting down on crime, and contributing to the liveability of your neighborhood. It’s often times a thankless job and there is a lot of paperwork, but there are also plenty of opportunities for advancement.

Construction Manager

Working in the trades is one of theways where you can still earn a very solid middle class income, and is still a largely untapped field. You get the white collar benefit of management and leadership experience, and the blue collar perk of everyone seeing what you created with your own hands.

Tech Support Specialist

One of the effects of technology being so widespread in the digital era is just about everyone knows a thing or two about computers. But as the machines get more and more sophisticated, the skill set required to understand everything about them grows, too, and your know-how comes in extremely handily.

Dental Hygienist

Here’s another front line position. Dental hygienists check up on your history, provide teeth cleanings, and prep you for the dentist. While they’re not as advanced as dentists are (e.g. they can’t fix your cavities), they are a wealth of knowledge when it comes to making sure you’ve got the healthiest, strongest teeth possible.

Physical Therapy Assistant

With healthcare costing hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars, going to the doctor or hospital for every little thing becomes quite costly over time. Instead, many people are looking at preventative action, using physical therapists to help them with the bits and pieces to get themselves feeling like new again.
